The Party on the Field event held at White House Farm, Misterton, has again kindly supported Five Villages First Responders with a fantastic donation from the proceeds of the day.

The event features a full day of music and fun and is attended by over 400 members of the public, including visitors of the White House Farm camping and caravan site. This year's Party on the Field was held on Saturday 13th July and raised a massive £6,880, which has been split between five good causes, each receiving £1,376.

Macmillan Cancer Support will also receive an extra £1,892.03 from Tom Bainbridge, the drummer from band Catch 23 who braved the shaveto raise even more money for the charity.

The event is organised by Phil and Chris Clay, plus other helpers, and a variety of bands played to the crowds including Full Moon Freida, The Verrans, Big Wayne's Blues Experience, The Reach, Catch 23 and Blue Swans and Ben.

Martyn Johnson from Five Villages First Responders said: "A very big thank you goes to Chris, Phil and all those involved in organising the event, we know lots of hard work goes into making such a day happen. Also thank you to all the bands involved, those who supported and sponsored the day with toilets, sound equipment, the lorry and other logistics, to those who donated raffle prizes and to all those who attended the event and were so generous."

John, Community First Responder from our team has been out and about on the Isle of Axholme during the last couple of weeks of January showing the members of both Owston Ferry and Haxey WIs some important life-saving skills, including CPR and using a Defibrillator. A big thank you to both groups for the very warm welcome given to John and for taking part; plus a big well done to John for his continued great work across our community.
